Foster care is about giving children and young people a safe, stable, and nurturing home when they can’t live with their family. Sometimes this is for a short while, sometimes it’s longer. What matters most is that children feel cared for, listened to, and supported to grow.
Carers don’t do it alone. We provide training before you begin, ongoing support, and a community of people who understand the journey. You’ll have access to 24/7 help for emergencies, regular check-ins, and resources to make sure you feel confident in your role.
Children in foster care may have experienced tough starts in life—family crisis, neglect, trauma, or other challenges. Your role is to provide consistency and warmth so they can feel safe and thrive. Foster carers can be couples, single adults, families with children of their own, empty-nesters, or grandparents.
The process usually begins with an information session, followed by a step-by-step application and assessment. You’ll complete some training, meet with our team for home visits and interviews, and get matched with children whose needs fit your strengths and lifestyle. From the very beginning, we’re walking beside you, making sure you’re supported every step of the way.
