DCC Industry Group, including related companies, is committed to creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all children and young people. As an Indigenous-led organisation, we recognise the importance of cultural identity, connection to community, and respect for diverse traditions in keeping children safe and strong.
We have zero tolerance for child harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and discrimination in any form. The safety and wellbeing of children and young people are central to every decision we make.
We are committed to:
- Upholding the rights of all children and young people to feel safe, respected, and heard.
- Embedding the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld) and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations across all areas of our governance, policy, and practice.
- Actively listening to children and young people and involving them in decisions that affect their lives.
- Ensuring our staff, volunteers, contractors, and partners understand and follow our Code of Conduct and fulfil their obligations to protect children and young people.
- Responding promptly, consistently, and transparently to concerns, disclosures, or allegations of harm.
- Recognising and respecting the cultural safety of First Nations children and families and valuing cultural diversity across all communities we work with.
- Providing ongoing training, support, and accountability to ensure our workforce is committed to upholding child safeguarding principles.
