We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Practitioner to lead trauma-informed, high-quality care for children and young people. In this new and pivotal role, you’ll work with a certain level autonomy and also a sense of innovation alongside the General Manager – Quality & Practice to take ownership of the role and drive continuous improvement across our Youth and Communities, Foster and Kinship Care, and Disability and Allied Health programs.

You’ll provide professional supervision, on-the-ground guidance, and practice leadership that aligns with organisational frameworks and evidence-based models of care. Your relational, culturally safe approach will help implement wrap-around, strengths-based case management for children and young people with complex trauma backgrounds.

Based in either Rockhampton or Gladston, with travel between Rockhampton, Gladstone and Emerald as needed, the Case Manager in DCC Industry Group’s Youth and Communities division plays a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive case management and driving positive outcomes for children and young people in Non-Family Based Care. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, you will have direct line management responsibility for House Managers and foster a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment that promotes the well-being and development of vulnerable children and young people in care. You will be responsible for achieving compliance with relevant regulations, including the Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS), Child Safety licensing requirements, particularly the Standards of Care under the Child Protection Act (1999) Qld.

In this role, you will be working as part of a dynamic care team, providing both youth support and disability support services to children and young people in DCC care. Our young people may have a range of additional needs, including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), language disorders, and reactive attachment disorder.

You will be responsible for offering compassionate, trauma-informed care and supporting each young person’s individual development and well-being. This includes assisting with personal care needs such as meal preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, medication administration and accurate medication data recording, skill development and socialisation, and providing transport to school, appointments, and community-based activities.

You will be an effective determined and creative leader that takes the opportunity to develop and support a residential program. This position will see you providing on the floor support to young people in the program each day, with one day allocated as your admin day.

Your focus will be on guiding and supporting youth workers through example—fostering personal growth, positive engagement, and trauma-informed care practices.

You will participate in and support young people’s Cultural Support Plan and support the House Manager with the day-to-day operations of the home by assisting with the house planner, grocery list, cleaning checklists, identifying risks and concerns, and up lining these to the House Manager. You will play an active part in maintaining a therapeutic, trauma-aware environment that meets the individual needs of children and young people with complex behavioural and emotional backgrounds.

The Child Safeguarding Regulator is responsible for promoting a child-safe culture within Out of Home Care services, ensuring compliance with child protection laws and best practice frameworks. Reporting to the General Manager of Quality and Practice, the role provides expert oversight, supports carers and staff, and ensures children are protected from harm. It involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, leading training, responding to incidents, and driving continuous improvement. A strong understanding of legislation, cultural safety, and trauma-informed care is essential, along with the ability to balance regulatory compliance with child-centred practice.

DCC Industry Group has opened a brand-new part-time role to align with our growth and as such are seeking three reliable and experienced On-Call Officers to provide after-hours telephone support to frontline staff in our Non-Family Based Care programs. Operating outside standard business hours, this role responds to urgent situations such as medical emergencies, safety concerns, crisis incidents, emergency repairs, and staffing issues. You’ll be calm under pressure, solution-focused, and have experience in crisis response or community services. You’ll offer clear, timely advice to ensure the safety of children, young people, staff, and property, while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation.
